I was coming home with my mom from a doctor’s appointment and we say a dog running really hard. She said “Look at that dog. Running as if he is off to some important work.” We saw the same dog a couple of seconds later – just standing still. She commented again “Look at him. He is just standing and moments ago was running as if in a race.”
We can comment on a dog, even other humans at times, for exerting unnecessary busy work. But, Isn’t that what we all do every day – run towards something as if nothing mattered.
