Broken Dreams by Lauretta P. Burns
As children bring their broken toys
with tears for us to mend.
I brought my broken dreams to GOD
Because He was my Friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
in Peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried
“How can You be so slow”?
“My child,” He said,
“What could I do?
You never did let go.”
We turn to God for help when our foundations are shaking, only to learn that it is God who is shaking them.
I saw my Lord with the eye of my heart, and I said: Who art thou? He said : Thou.
The man yelled “God, speak to me!” The thunder rolled across the sky…but the man did not listen. The man looked around and said, “God, let me see you.” A star shined brightly..but the man did not notice. The man shouted, “God show me a miracle!” A life was born… but the man did not know. The man cried out in despair, “Touch me God and let me know you are here!” Whereupon God reached down and touched the man.. .but the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.
Religion is for people who are scared to go to hell. Spirituality is for people who have already been there.
The fewer the words, the better the prayer.
When did I realise I was God? I was praying and suddenly realised I was talking to myself.
He was a wise man who invented God.
If you don’t find God in the next person you meet. It’s a waste of time looking for him further.
See him present in every experience and remember he is always with you, ready to assist whenever you turn your thoughts to him. And above all, remember he is not to be won by words, but by deeds.
May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
An atheist is a man who has no invisible means of support.
O lord-if their is a lord; save my soul if i have a soul. Amen.
If god did not exist it would be necessary to invent him.
to hate man and worship god seems to be the sum of all creeds
My heart longs to join in thy song, but speech breaks not into song, and i cry out baffled. Ah, thou hast make my heart captive in the endless meshes of thy music, my master.
